NAIROBI—A group of people who identified themselves as the supporters of Wajir governor Mohamed Abdi now want the appointment of Abdihafidh Abdullahi Yarow as the Water county minister revoked citing previous utterances.

They said the former deputy governor cannot be trusted to deliver and work under the new governor.

“We have video evidence of him (Abdihafidh) accusing the governor of incompetence and non-performance,” Ilyas Mohamed, the leader of the group told Kulan Post in Nairobi.

“How can he effectively perform under the same person he was so vehemently against just over two months ago,” he added.

The four-member youths said they would submit the video “in a short while” and will use the same to derail his ambition since he is a “hypocrite.”

The county assembly clerk has invited the public to submit memorandum and petitions that may have bearing on the suitability of the individuals appointment by the governor on Wednesday.

“Abdihafith should have the nerve to have a stand in his political engagements…He was the deputy governor for the former governor Ahmed Abdullahi and later decamped to Ahmed Muhumed,” he added.
