MANDERA—The Adola Community on Tuesday fronted Adan Ali Sheikh as their preferred candidate to vie for Mandera South parliamentary seat.
He is now the presumptive nominee for Mandera South parliamentary seat.
“The choice of Adan Ali Sheikh shows that the community is united more than ever before,”Abdullahi Derrow, a political commentator from the county said.
“The larger Adola will not and will never accept candidates imposed on them by individuals. They have deliberated for eight days and arrived at the name of Adan Ali Sheikh to be the community’s flag-bearer in the forthcoming General election,” he added.
Mr Huka the current Mandera South MP was also present at the ceremony where Adan Ali Sheikh was crowned by all the eight sub-tribe of the Adola community.
The legislator will soon be crowned as the king Adolla in a ceremony to be held soon.
I thank the Adolla Elders, Youth, Ulamaas and politicians for standing together in unity and for rejecting the candidate hand-picked by the defunct GCOE’s. Thank you and may God bless you.
