Back new SUPKEM leadership, Muslim Association urges Muslims

The leadership of Nakuru Muslim Association has asked Muslims to give their moral support to the newly elected national officials of Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) to enable them serve the Ummah diligently.

Speaking to the Friday Bulletin, the association chairman Yunis Malik commended the new officials upon their election and noted that it is with the support from Muslims, the new SUPKEM leadership will endeavor to deliver on their mandate to promote social economic progress in the community.

“I call upon Muslims from all parts of the country to give full support to the newly elected leaders of SUPKEM to enable them to serve the Muslim Ummah with ease for socio-economic development,” he said.

Yunis called on the leadership of the Muslim umbrella body to work together to safeguard the interests of the community and drive Muslim agenda in all matters of national importance for progress.

“We need a strong leadership in the economic, political and social spheres, there is no room for a weak leadership in this world,” he added.

The chairman also appealed to the new leadership to strive for unity and forge a close working relationship with other Muslim organizations at the grassroots level to see to it that the myriad of challenges affecting Muslims are addressed.

Yunis singled out poverty, unemployment among Muslim youth, drugs, declining education standards and moral decadence as some of the challenges in the Muslim community that need to be urgently addressed.
