MANDERA—At least four people have been confirmed killed, six others injured in Mandera Friday morning after a Toyota Land cruiser they were travelling in ran over an IED.
The incident happened at Sheikh Barrow location along the Fino-Lafey road in Lafey sub-county in Mandera.
“The Land cruiser serves as a passenger vehicle given the unavailability of public transport in the area,” area chief told Kulan Post on the phone.
The casualties were admitted at the Lafey hospital. Hospital staff at the facility say the hospital was overwhelmed.
The ill-fated was transporting 16 passengers at the time of the attack.
