Chris Brown earned one million for every minute he performed at Mombasa concert

MOMBASA—Visiting American popstar Chris Brown made sh 90 million in the three hours that he performed at a Mombasa music concert on Saturday.

In a contract that has since been made public, the orgernisers of the one-day event Wale Wasee Limited said the concert was attended by more than 15, 000 fans on a different ticket price.

“The festival aims to attract 15, 000 people,” Thandi Ojeer, the co-founder of the organising firm noted.

“Our most expensive ticket goes for a price of sh 20,000 for VIP and sh 10,000 for general admission,” she added.

That means the “Grass Ain’t Greener” hit-maker earned a whooping one million for every minute that he performed at Mombasa on Saturday night.

Chris Brown was paid sh 20 million for travel buyout  while still in the US. Another 35 million was wired to his account as a performance fee and he will receive the remaining sh 35 million on Sunday.

The sh 90 million Chris Brown received is tax-free, according to the contract entered into by Wale Wasee and Chris Brown ahead of the performance.

Kulan Post understands that the preparation for the event started early August.

Wale Wasee Limited projects to cash in sh 127 million from the sale of tickets for the one day event.

“It has the capacity to boost music tourism,” Adil Juma the CEO of Wale Wasee Limited said.

“And in doing so, we boost domestic and oversees tourism,” he added.

Tanzania’s Ali Kiba and Nigerian sensational Wizkid were part of the performing team in Mombasa on Saturday.
