GARISSA—Former Fafi legislator and Garissa senate hopeful has once again taken aim at the incumbent Garissa senator Yussuf Haji who he termed non-performer.

At a rally in Garissa, Major Aden Sugow reiterated that Garissa people need a stronger representation at the Senate to oversee how the county government spend their billions.

“Garissa lacks strong Senate representative,” Sugow told a mammoth crowd at a marketplace in Garissa.

“Have you ever seen a senator around here? Any project he initiated?” he asked.

“Garissa is bleeding today because you have no one to protect your interest,” he added.

He said the role of the senate “is to enlighten the people on the excesses of the executive.”

In an exclusive interview with Kulan Post on September, Aden Sugow said he was prepared to live up to the expectation of Garissa County residents, adding that a strong oversight role is what is badly needed.

He said the current county government leadership lacks direction due to “lack of support and guidance from the Senate side.”

“We have to make sure that we have an effective oversight to ensure that resource coming to this county is given to the people who deserve,” Sugow told Kulan Post.
