MANDERA—A Combined joint task force of Rapid Response team, Administration Police from El-Wak, Kenya Police and the ATPU have reportedly stopped attack on El Wak police station.
“The combined force destroyed and killed at least 4 members of Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab terror cell that was planning to conduct an attack against specific high value targets including the El-Wak Police camps,” a statement by the police said.
“Four members of the terror cell were shot dead, weapons and ammunition recovered in one of the most successful intelligence led operation,” the statement added.
The terrorists were planning to fire rocket propelled grenades on the camps and then do away ammunition, weapons, and police vehicles.
