NAIROBI—The permanent Secretary for Public Works, Mariam El Maawy has died at a South African hospital while undergoing treatment suffered when Al Shabab militants attacked her in July this year.
In a press statement, President Uhuru Kenyatta termed her death “deeply distressed.”
“She was a dedicated public servant and accomplished architect and a patriot,” he said.
