Speaking in Jeddah when he met over 100 Kenyan nationals, Kenya’s envoy to the Kingdom Mohamed Abdi Mohamud said the aid would be used to support “water stressed counties.”

Among the areas considered for the aid are counties in the Northern Kenya and parts of lower Eastern region as well as the coast where the government identified as drought-prone.

In Wajir, the water wells are drying up leaving homesteads with no water for domestic use.

“In the meeting I hailed the good bilateral relationship between Kenya and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the ambassador told Kulan Post.

He further called on Kenyan nationals in the Kingdom to respect the rule of the land, saying it was paramount for mutual respect and understanding.

“I advised them (Kenyans) to obey the laws of the host nation and portray the good image of our country,” Mohamed added.

“I assured them that the government is aware of their challenges in the Kingdom and are being addressed,” he noted.

He was accompanied in the visit by embassy officials who attended to the Kenyans on consular issues.
