eastleighThree Somali nationals were shot dead at Cape Town, South Africa in what the locals say was a targeted killing. The incident happened at the Khayelitsha. The killings happened at separate times on Thursday night.

The police in Cape Town say the motive of the killing is unclear.

Speaking to the eNCA TV on the phone, Police Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andre Trout said the first incident occurred at 9:45 pm where a 27-year old was shot dead outside his shop while he was locking the door.

“Shortly after that, five minutes later at a separate location, a 22-year-old man was shot and killed inside his shop and around the same time, a 28-year-old national was killed in Solomon Tshuku Street, also in Site C,” he added.

Police said nothing was taken from the men’s shops and the motive for the killings is unknown.

“The circumstances surrounding these cases are currently under investigation,” the Police Spokesman said.

The police maintain that the killings were linked.
