WAJIR—Wajir governor has once again delayed the appointment of the county ministers amid growing pressure to make the list inclusive.

Governor Mohamed Abdi was set to unveil the list on Tuesday. Addressing the media at the Kenya Power and Lighting Company offices in Wajir, the governor said he would make the list public tomorrow without divulging further information over the cause of delay.

The people of Wajir have challenged the governor to name a cabinet that reflects his campaign tagline of forming an inclusive government.

“The government was elected on a platform of equity and inclusivity in terms of resource distribution,” Hashim Elmoge, an activist and head of the Wajir Good Governance Initiative said.

He added that, “Departure from the same will amount to short-changing the eager voters.”
