Garissa county governor addressing the public where he witnessed the swearing in ceremony of the county executive committees.
GARISSA—Garissa county governor Ali Bunow Korane has promised to work with the newly sworn in county executive committee promising to promote public participation in service delivery provided in the constitution, making major decisions that has impact on their lives.
Speaking at Lantern hotel in Garissa town today when he witnessed the swearing in of 6 County Executive Committee (CEC) members, Korane said the citizens will be involved in every step in deciding their future and his decisions will be for the best interest of the people of Garissa.
“We want to assure the people of Garissa, decisions made with my approval are best for them and have nothing to do with politics.” he said.
The swearing in ceremony of the 6 C.E.Cs that was presided over by judge Cosmos Mundu were Adow Jubat (trade), Abdi Omar Farah (Public works), Ahmednadhir Omar (Health), Habon Maalim (Environment), Zeinab Abdi (Gender) and Roble Said (Finance).
Korane also added that in his regime, drastic measures will be taken against corrupt and non-performance, emphasizing service delivery will be upheld.
He promised to set up the right institutional infrastructure to address key challenges among them perennial lack of water that has become a thorn in the flesh for Garissa county residents.
