MANDERA—A Mandera court has directed the anti-terror police unit to hold a middle-aged man for a week pending investigation into his latest moves.

The Anti-Terror Police Unit sought to hold Abdullahi Sudhi Sahal seven days after they suspected his “wandering nature” a year after he was released from prison.

According to court documents seen by Kulan Post, Abdullahi made several journeys across the country after he served his sentence following his conviction by the Lamu Senior Resident Magistrate’s Court for engaging in organised crimes.

Abdullahi was arrested after section of Mandera residents reported of his suspicious behaviour, the prosecutor noted without divulging more details about the suspicious behaviours. Abdullahi is a Migori resident, according to his identification documents.

After hearing and subsequent consideration by the Mandera Senior Resident Magistrate Peter Areri, it was ruled that Abdullahi be held for a week to allow the police to carry out the investigations.

“I have perused the application and the supporting affidavit and order that Abdullahi Sudhi Sahal be remanded at Mandera police station for seven days to assist with investigations,” he ruled.
