NAIROBI—A 25-year-old politician is among the candidates who declared interest in the position of East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) member.
Said Hashi, who joined politics at a early age, first made to the limelight in 2013 when he led youth in the election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his consecutive re-election in 2017.
He is now the youngest of the candidates eyeing the influential EALA member representative.
The vocal youth leader will be facing seasoned politicians, including former Principal Secretary Mutahi Iringo, Hon. Simon Mbugua who unsuccessfully contested the Kamakunji parliamentary seat among others in the Jubilee Party.
Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka’s son Kennedy and Former nominated Mp Oburu Odinga is also fronted by the opposition parties Wiper and ODM respectively.
Candidates have untill 23rd Nov. to submit applications to the clerks of either National Assembly or the Senate.
