WAJIR—The Madarasas in Tarbaj sub-county Will received more than sh 60 million following fund-drive held in Wajir on Saturday.
The deputy President, William Ruto and Majority Leader, Aden Duale joined Wajir leaders led by Governor Mohamed Abdi and business community for the fundraiser held at Orahey grounds.
The amount will be used to support the local Islamic schools and their activities.
52,050,100 was raised and another 9,333,000 in pledges.
President Uhuru sent sh 1m while Ruto added sh 2m.
