Three locals killed, scores injured in Mandera bus attack

MANDERA—A passenger bus from Mandera town heading to Nairobi was attacked by suspected Shabab gunmen, killing three at Sarman area in Mandera North County.
Initial reports indicate that all the victims are locals.
The Moyale Raha Bus left Mandera town in the morning and was sprayed with bullets while on its way to Nairobi, the management told Kulan Post.
According to section of the passengers, the gunmen first hit the tyre and when the driver attempted to avoid the rain of bullet, he unfortunately drove to a more hostile corner of the road.
The driver of the bus is among the scores that got injured in the mid-morning attack.
Mandera County Commissioner Onesmus Kyatha, while confirming the incident, said he expects more “bad news.”
