NAIROBI—Three people have been killed by the police in two presidential functions over the weekend.

There has been questions whether or not the president’s security detail listened to the intelligence provided on the ground in one of the incidents.

On Friday, President Uhuru Kenyatta attended the funeral of Reverend John Gitau of the Presbyterian church of East Africa where two men were accused of being robbers and were killed.

“They were breaking into vehicles belonging to mourners when we were alerted,” Karen OCPD Ciiningham Suiyanka said.

The police confirmed that when the two were confronted they took off in a car where they drove into a road that led to a dead end, when the police cornered and shot them.

And on Saturday evening, security personnel shot down a man in Isiolo County while clearing the way for the President who was on a visit to the county.

Ibrahim Mohamed Huka, 21, died on the spot after he was shot in the head.

He was killed during a political procession along Marsabit-Garba Tulla junction in Isiolo which was led by Abdul Bahari,a Jubilee gubernatorial candidate.
