WAJIR—Best parts of Wajir County will experience dry spell this month as other parts of the Country are expected to receive high rainfall.

The meteorological department has however said some areas will be receiving maximum rainfall. Tarbaj, Kutulo, Wajir Bor and Tarbaj are the few areas in Wajir County that is expected to get rain.

According to Daniel Wanjui who is the Wajir County director of  meteorological department, the April weather forecast is based on reduction of anomalies in temperature and changes in sea surface temperature.  Wajir County is located near an impartial Indian Ocean area that is not favorable for rainfall.

“Wajir is mostly inhabited by pastoralist and the rainfall will benefit their livestock as pastures will be available during the March to May rainfall,” the weather report says.

Wajir and the rest of North Eastern Counties have been experiencing severe droughts in the past months. The short rains are expected to help but the drought is expected to continue.

Residents in this County might go for a by election if  the Court of appeal upholds the decision of the High Court that nullified the election of Mohamed Abdi’s 8th  August gubernatorial victory.
