Many a times, those of us who try to utilise their constitutional right to freedom of expression and demand for accountability and transparency in governance have been subjected to mockery, mob justice and ridicule by blind loyalists of the County regime. Apparently, vast majority of these rabid socialites have no idea of the thin line separating personal issues and policies. To them, whoever demands answers for the botched tendering process or questions the raw nepotism and blatant abuse of public institutions is an enemy of the County government. They vomit ills about critics, delve into their personal lives and post on social media sites rubbishes that hold no water. Many have perfected the arts of lies and supreme defensive egoism akin to Mr Muhammad Saeed Al-Sahaf, the bombastic, sycophantic and regime praising Iraqi Minister for information during the US invasion of Iraq known for his illusion grandiose & gross misrepresentation of realities We are not against individuals, be it Governor Ali Ibrahim Roba or his officials. We respect Governor Roba and the institution he is heads. We respect him as a democratically elected leader. We value his leadership. He is our brother in faith and our friend. We are against institutional corruption, nepotism and cronyism .Our actions are driven by the fear that it will be difficult to uproot those vices should we fail to counter it in its early stages. As a medic, I believe prevention is better than cure & it is wise to prevent the evil values before it firmly embeds into our lives.
In a nutshell, We are not against Governor Roba, we are against the governing robbers of public resources!
