NAIROBI—Kenyan broadcasters have been challenged to air the “swearing” of Raila Odinga at the Uhuru Park.

Political analyst, Norman Magaya said the TV channels would be vindicated from claims of ‘self-gagging’ following reports of media editor’s meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta at the State House.

“Let them (TVs) not show us cartoons, soaps and other rubbish stuff,” he said at the NTV morning show.

In a press statement, the chairman of the Editor’s Guilt Linus Kaikai said the meeting was aimed at intimating the editors to be favourable to the Jubilee administration.

A conflicting statement came out later in the evening signed by the vice chairman, Samuel Maina of the Guild which distanced the group from the chairman’s statement.

“Claims of dress down is misrepresentation of facts,” he fired back.

Hannington Gaya, the chairman of the Media Owners Association who attended the meeting at the State House said NASA swearing ceremony was discussed.
