Wajir police hold man who disrupted Inua Mama rally

WAJIR—Police in Wajir are holding man accused of masterminding brief disruption of Inua Mama rally at Orahey ground in Wajir.

Confirming the arrest, Wajir County police boss Stephen Ngetich said Ali Yassin Mohamed was arrested after he lobbed teargas at the rally. 

“Today we arrested a man believed to have lobbed the teargas canister at the crow during Inua Mama event as he tried to escape,” Ngetich said.

Ali Yassin was charged with being a member of a terrorist group. 

“Ali was in the company of three other unidentified men and were flown to Wajir from Nairobi’s Kibera,” Ngetich added. 

Inua Mama brigade were in Wajir on Friday, hosted by nominated MP Nasri Sahal.
