NAIROBI—One of the bodyguards of Eldas MP Aden Keynan was earlier today arrested after he misplaced his service pistol in the parking lot of the Serena Hotel.
According to police report, the unnamed officer left the firearm in the backseat pouch to sit at the co-driver’s position. When he stepped out to pick for it, the pistol was gone.
“He drew his Ceska pistol of serial no. F/9357 in the vehicle’s pouch at the back of the seat and moved in front on the co driver’s seat. After some time he decides to move out of the vehicle but on checking his firearm he noticed it was missing,” the bodyguard reported at the Parliament Police Station.
He further stated that the front doors were fully locked but the rear ones were slightly lowered. Efforts to locate it in the vicinity bore no fruits.
“The said officer [is]now placed in cells as investigations commence,” read the police report in part.
It added that: “”The scene has been visited by the orderly central officer Caroline Sang’anyi and duty officer Parliament IP Bernard Njeru but no recovery has been made. STAPOLS keep a sharp lookout and CRO Nairobi kindly circulate in your next KPG.”
