Former NYS recruit arrested at border with Somalia on his way to Kenya for a “mission”

Somalia authorities have arrested a Kenyan Alshabaab militant Stephen Wachira Ngariko from Kirinyaga County and two Tanzanians near Dhobley as they tried to sneak into Kenya

BREAKING NEWS

Somali intelligence officers have arrested a former NYS recruit on his way to Kenya in what the authorities say was a “highly possible terror mission” in the Capital, Nairobi.

The former NYS Stephen from Kirinyaga confessed to be member of the militant group on a mission to execute attacks in the Kenya capital Nairobi.

Two other suspects from Tanzania were also nabbed in the operation.

The suspect, was born 1989 a Stephen Wachira Ngariko was earlier today nabbed in Dhobley alongside two Tanzanian nationals.

Sources close to the investigation indicate that Wachira had been on the terrorist watchlist after he varnished into Somalia. Reports however do not indicate when he left the National Youth Service.

The three are being held at a high level security installation as investigations continue. It is believed they were headed for Nairobi after acquiring terrorist training with the Somalia based rag-tag Al shabaab outfit that has long pitched base in the horn of Africa
