NAIROBI—Raila Odinga has asserted to be sworn in as the people’s president on Sunday. He laughed off Uhuru’s warning that anyone who emasculates the Kenyan constitution or peace will face the wrath of the law.
The NASA leader’s swearing in will pacify millions of his supporters though it may provoke foreign countries, trade unions and religious leaders who wanted to mend the differences between him and Uhuru Kenyatta.
Raila, speaking at Sun ‘N’ Sand Beach in Kilifi after he presided over the inauguration of People’s Assembly of the Coastal region, said his inauguration too will be soon though he nor other NASA leaders gave a date.
“It’s much better to stand up for the truth and die with it rather than to die lying down,” Raila said.
He added, “I will lift the Bible, nobody can stop me now.”
Mr Oduor Ongwen, the Orange Democratic Movement chief executive director said that the timetable For Raila’s inauguration at a national gathering is complete.
“Raila shall be sworn-in whether they like it or not. The event will be done at a National gathering where Raila will receive instruments of power.” Oduor said.
The NASA leader in his speech said that he will not be intimidated by Uhuru’s warning , he added that “Kenya is bigger than everyone,”
