NAIROBI—Top Nairobi lawyer has offered to represent former Wajir governor in the Courts of Appeal.
Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi said he would lead the team of lawyers to represent Ahmed Abdullahi at the Supreme Court.
“I have accepted to lead the legal team representing Governor Ahmed Abdullahi…in the Court of Appeal,” Ahmed Nassir tweeted midday on Wednesday.
Ahmed Abdullahi and Ahmed Muhumed have moved to the court on September to challenge the election of Mohamed Abdi as the duly elected governor of Wajir County.
On Friday last week, Judge Mabeya nullified the election.
On Monday, the embattled governor moved to the Appeals Court to challenge decision of the lower court.
Wajir governor Mohamed Abdi said he would continue leading until next election.
“At the end of the five years, our score card will give us an extension or not. Therefore, the public is informed that, anything that might delay service delivery and efficiency, will not be entertained,” he said.
He added that, “Our focus on service delivery to the people of Wajir County shall not be distracted by people whose intention is to play politics at all times.”
