NAIROBI (kulanpost) – – – The Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court has directed the appellants’counsel to provide the court with final submission on Tuesday, next week.
In a court session that lasted slightly over quarter an hour, Macharia while representing the appellant, Governor Mohamed Abdi of Wajir, said his team needs more time to make their submissions.
His prayer was challenged by senior counsel Ahmednassir Abdullahi who said the court had given the team ample time to adduce new evidence.
“Seven days is just too long,” he said.
Ahmednassir appears for the respondents.
He also asked the court to allow grilling of the appellant and the individuals in the applicant’s affidavit.
“We want to be allowed to cross-examine the appellant (governor Mohamed Abdi) and the individuals mentioned in the appellant’s draft affidavit,” Ahmednassir said.
The Deputy Registrar gave the applicants until Tuesday to make their final submission before the case moves into the next phase.
