GARISSA—The newly nominated county public officers by Governor Ali Bunow Korane were on Friday sworn in at the county offices in accordance with the county government laws.
The three who were nominated late last year were vetted on Thursday before the county assembly appointment committee chaired by the house speaker Ahmed Ibrahim.
Their names were later forwarded and tabled before the county assembly for recommendation and approval.
The public officers who took oath of office include chair public service board Ebla Sahal, county secretary Abdi Mohamed sheikh and secretary to the board Mohamed Abdi respectively.
The public officers during the administering of oath that was presided by the CEC finance, promised to discharge their duties and ensure efficient performance is given to Garissa residents.
Speaking during the inauguration governor Korane congratulated the new officers and urged them to cooperate with other officers and also to work hard in service delivery to the people of Garissa.
“Am appealing to the new officers to work hard in service delivery to the people of Garissa.” said Korane.
He noted that the county government of Garissa is well constituted and therefore no reason should come up for not delivering and serving the people of Garissa.
“With our county government fully constituted unlike the other counties there should be no reason why we should not serve the public efficiently in service delivery. “He added.
Korane promised the officers maximum leadership assistance and full cooperation from his office to ensure they provide quality service to the people.
