NAIROBI—At least three girls were allegedly raped at Moi Girls High School on Saturday.

Confirming the incident, the OCPD for Kilimani said the authorities only identified one victim, but parents say the number of girls raped on Saturday were three.

Mr Micheal Muchiri told the Nation that the suspect is at large.

“This is an active investigation. The school administration is cooperating with the police to establish the depth of the matter at hand. Detectives are following up on important leads,” he said.

According to parents we spoke to, they said they suspect the school night guards colluded with the rapist.

” The guards are aware of the suspects, ” one parent lamented.

The three girls who are ethnically Somali were raped at 3am to 4am when they were preparing to take their final meal in the morning before they start fasting.

However, police report denied the number and the parent’s account of what happened.

“We are only investigating the matter concerning the Form Two student. We are talking about one girl,” the OCPD said, adding that enough security personnel were deployed to avoid further attacks.

A meeting of school administration, government leaders and parents will be convened on Monday next week.
