Kulan PostWAJIR—A Cuban doctor based in Wajir county was on Monday robbed off his belonging by unknown assailants.
Reporting the incident to Wajir police station, the doctor said that his clothes were stolen from his house.
A police report filed by the doctor who is based at the Wajir referral hospital, said that he woke up ready to go to work but he was shocked to discover that his four long-sleeved shirts, four short-sleeved shirts and two vests were missing.
He claimed that someone might have gained access to his house and stole his clothes.
It is not yet clear how the thief gained access into the house as there are armed security guards attached to the doctors.
It is suspected that the robbery might have occurred during the day as the doctors guards usually arrive at night.
Detectives in Wajir have since started investigations on the matter and police officers guarding the Cuban doctor’s home have been increased.
The doctors arrived in counties earlier this month raising hope that they will boost healthcare among locals. Each county received two doctors.
The Cuban doctors include among others three radiologists, five nephrologists, orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons and neurologists.
Nurses have been assigned to assist the specialists in breaking the communication barrier that may occur as most patients cannot speak English.
